How to import when the menu option is greyed out?
The import option is only available once you have a project defined, use File > New PCB Project to create a project before attempting the import command.
Once the import command is working if you don't see all the file types to import that you expect then make sure you have installed all the available software modules, see this KB article for how to install any missing importers.
