Maxim and Amimon join forces to provide best-in-class WHDI solutions
SUNNYVALE, CA—November 10, 2009 — Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM), the industry leader in innovative analog and mixed-signal silicon solutions, announces a new line of high-performance RF chipsets for wireless video applications. Maxim will partner with AMIMON, Inc., the provider of WHDI (Wireless Home Digital Interface) solutions, to offer a joint reference design based on MAX2850/MAX2851 WHDI RF chipset that interfaces directly to the AMIMON AMN 2120/2220 WHDI baseband chipset.
The Maxim-AMIMON WHDI solution enables wireless streaming of uncompressed 1080p/60Hz HD content. This solution can be embedded into consumer electronic (CE) devices such as LCD and plasma HDTVs, multimedia projectors, notebooks, A/V receivers, Blu-ray Disc players, set-top boxes (STBs), game consoles, DVRs, PCs, and HD video accessories/dongles.
Maxim’s highly integrated MAX2850/MAX2851 chipset leverages innovative design architecture to deliver the best-in-class range and throughput performance required for true, in-home, multiroom wireless connectivity at ultra-low power consumption levels.
