BM25 Series, 0.4mm Pitch, Hybrid, Power and Signal FPC-to-Board Connectors

Hirose has introduced the BM25 series of connectors to provide a high power connectivity solution for miniature applications. image

The BM25 range of connectors consists of plugs and receptacles to allow a flat printed circuit (FPC) to board connection.

The parallel stack height is low-profile at only 0.7mm high in mated condition.

The connector features a hybrid design to include signal contacts rated at 0.3A (amps) and power contacts rated at 10A (amps).

Although the dimensions are compact, performance is not compromised, and the parts are able to offer highly reliable mechanical connection. This is due to the provision of unique four-point contactsand a long effective mating length of 0.14mm for the signal contact.

Guide ribs are incorporated into the housing body, providing for a wide self-alignment range of 0.48mm in the X-direction and 0.46mm in the Y-direction and permitting a smoother mating operation.

The robust housing incorporates a metal guide structure to prevent any damage due to incorrect mating.

Multipoint metal locks are provided to prevent any unintended unmating due to drop impact and increase retention force.

The integral moulding features no gaps to prevent solder wicking.

Key Features

  • Number of contacts: 4 signal / 2 power
  • Contact pitch:0.4mm
  • Current rating: 0.3A signal / 10A power
  • Stack height: 0.7mm
  • Voltage rating: 30V
  • Mating cycles: 10
  • Halogen-free

Suitable applications are point-of-sale equipment and any other portable handheld devices.
