Hirose DF19 Board-to-discrete wire cable connectors

With the introduction of DF19 from Hirose, low  profile connectors take on a new meaning.  This new range of wire to PCB  connectors on a 1.0mm pitch stand just 1.7mm high, making the DF19 ideal for use  as a LCD interface, or with ultra slim electronic equipment.


The headers have a metal cover that forms part of the shielding / ground plate,  but also gives a large flat pick up area, to allow the use of standard vacuum  nozzles for automatic placement from the tape and reel packaging supplied as  standard.

The  discrete wire socket has tin plated crimp contacts that can be used with 28 AWG  cable, whilst still being able to handle 1 Amp. The connectors are fully shrouded and polarised,  with 2 grounding points and detent latches to prevent the connectors unmating   due to vibration or shock.

Features

  • Small configuration and board space
    Thin design accepts discrete wire, thin micro-coaxial cable
    (Ø1.5mm, Ø1.6mm max.) and FPC 1.7 mm maximum thick.
  • Common use of receptacle
    The same receptacle will accept plugs terminated with discrete wire,
    FPC or micro-coaxial cable.
  • Uniform external dimensions
    The plug assembly external dimensions remain the same when is
    terminated with discrete wire, FPC or micro- coaxial cable.
  • Variety of mounting styles
    Device design engineers have a choice of mounting styles: topboard,
    offset, reverse mount offset and vertical.
  • Ground connection
    Metal grounding plates connect with the common ground line.
 

Applications

  
LCD connections in small consumer devices: digital cameras, notebook computers,  PDA’s. Any device requiring high-density interconnection for consistent high  speed transmission data rates.
