migration to other os for MPLAB and icd2/icd3 ?

Has anyone had any real success in running MPLAB-icd2or3 in linux or mac osx? Irespective of the reasons why, I'm moving to other os.

(I've spent too many Saturdays re-loading windows etc). I not use eagle cad so linux or osx are the only other candiates.

I'm now using OSX 10.6.6 for all CAD(turbocad,eagle,ms-office), MPLABX, and debug environment as previous setup in XP. No looking back now.
I also use osx for amateur radio ie psk31 data modes. I have a Macbook Pro.

MPLAB X (beta 6) has been released for Linux/Mac/Windows running under the JAVA open source platform Netbeans.

MPLAX not compatible with ICD2. So many sells of them and no way to use it on Linux ?

Hi Fred,

ICD2 is a very old tool...and ICD3 was introduced 4 years ago. ICD3 is well supported in MPLAB X for all platforms.
So if you want to use Linux with MPLAB X the cheapest alternative is to use Pickit3 (please pay attention that Pickit3 does not support all PICs).
