Interested by some free dev tools. Tell us which one we will offer in Sept ?

We are seeking for your comments on which development tools you are interested in. We are planning to allocate in Sept some free of charge development boards related to Freescale MCU products.

Options are following boards :

* demoackit: A flexible and cost-effective evaluation system for the Flexis AC device family. The DEMOACKIT contains daughter cards for both the MC9S08AC128CLKE (S08) and the MCF51AC256CLKE (ColdFireRegistered V1) processor.

* MPC8308-RDB : MPC8308 is optimized for low-cost and low-power providing a  highly-integrated PowerQUICCRegistered II Pro processor that  addresses requirements of networking applications.MPC830 extends the PowerQUICC II Pro family adding higher CPU  performance and high-speed peripherals with low power consumption at a  very aggressive cost.

* SBC-I.MX51: i.MX51 applications processors  balance the performance, power consumption, connectivity and multimedia  capabilities necessary to drive today's latest and greatest products.  Benefits include high performance processing (Cortex A8 core up to 800MHz) and multimedia  capabilities, hardware acceleration that enables very low power  consumption for video and graphics, and a high level of integration to  reduce overall system bill of materials.

    Hi,

I would be pleased to have chance to try out the I.MX51 SBC. I have some ideas to use it for. It seems to be a great platform and there are several desciptions out there to use Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Android) on Cortex-A8 platforms.

    Hi Peggy.

I wasn't aware that there was a competition running now, so thanks for the heads-up.

Unfortunately, its taken so long to get this organised that I'm no longer interested in the

SBC-I.MX51SBC-I.MX51 board.  Freescale have already brought out the i.MX53 quickstart board

with much better features for a smaller price ($149USD) and it starts shipping next month

with Android & Windows 7 Embedded BSPs.

All the best & good luck to those that give the competition a go.

    Ewan.

    Hi Ewan,

I'm sorry about the delay. Our legal guys had to develop a complete set of T&Cs to allow us to run a global competition. Each country has different rules, so it took some time to round everything off,

    Hi Ally.

Its no trouble.  I can understand it would be a nightmare trying to get all of that together.

    All the best to you.

    Ewan.
