A technical overview of the design trade-offs each designer is faced with when designing the low noise element in most every wireless receiver : the low-noise-amplifier (LNA). This presentation will describe device-level consideration such as process technology, device sizing, bias setting, stability, and package parasitics. Different circuit topologies will also be compared, however the primary focus will on board-level design considerations.
