If you have question(s) about polymer capacitor technology, it's a GOOD opportunity for you to communicate directly with our polymer cap expert online on 4th Decemeber.
Here I just pre-selected some frequently asked questions>>
Q1: What's the biggest diference between standard tantalum capacitors and polymer tantalum capacitors (POSCAP)? Why is POSCAP better?
A1: Comparing standard tantalum with polymer tantalum, there is a lot of difference.
The big difference is that polymer caps are using polymer for electrolyte. It makes lower impedance/ESR characteristics and safer failure mechanism than standard tantalum.
Polymer tantalum capacitor is called safely capacitor compared with MnO2 standard tantalum capacitor. Due to this high reliability characteristics we can recommend 90%-100% de-rating from the rated voltage. On the other hand MnO2 caps usually require 30%-50% de-rating.

Q2: Hope to understand high density polymer caps used for energy storage in solid state disk drives.
A2: Our POSCAP products are being used for some storage device.
Polymer tantalum capacitor can achieve high density energy storage and high reliability solution, compared to standard tantalum capacitor. We can offer down to 1.2mm height products.
Q3: What polymer caps are suitable for high-end audio gear?
A3: Audio equipment normally needs capacitor that has large capacitance and high voltage due to the circuit requirement.
We do have large capacitance and high voltage capacitors in our OS-CON and Hybrid capacitor products line up.
These polymer capacitor have super low ESR that makes ideal impedance characteristics.
Q4: Does Panasonic polymer capacitors have AEC-Q200 qualification?
A4: Currently Hybrid caps, some Automotive grade series in OS-CON and POSCAP line up are AEC-Q200 qualified.
AEC-Q200 testing data for individual part number is available upon request.
