Wouldn’t it be useful if you could combine diverse connection technologies easily all within one enclosure solution for use on a DIN rail?

When creating new products for use on a DIN rail the connection technologies you may be looking to use are traditionally printed circuit board (PCB) terminal blocks along the sides and possibly RJ45s on the visible upper cover. You may actually prefer, however, to have the data connections and others along the sides of the enclosure leaving the visible upper for LEDs or switches. If you do use the upper for data connectors etc. you will have to mill out the cover in order to accommodate the connectors and this can add both time and cost to your unit.

At Phoenix Contact we recognise these challenges and have now launched the highly innovative and modular Industrial Case System (ICS). The ICS gives you the ability to combine various connection technologies side by side within the same enclosure easily for the first time. The innovative tray format enables you to position your connection technology choices where you wish along either side of the enclosure giving you complete flexibility of your design.

The range includes the modular ICS empty enclosure, traditional PCB connection technology with 3, 4 and 5 positions in pitches of 3.5 mm and 5.0 mm, as well as RJ45, DSUB, USB, antenna, etc. connection technologies. All can be integrated into the housing and you can also utilise the 8 pole TBUS DIN rail connector. Two PCB’s can be positioned within the ICS enclosure helping reduce the space needed within the control cabinet, which is another huge benefit with space being at a premium.
