AC/DC Convertor Integrated X-Capacitance Discharge Function

What is "X-Capacitance Discharge Function"?

It is stipulated by international standards that household electrical appliances discharge residual charges when the outlet is unplugged.

Conventionally, the case where the standby power is deteriorated by connecting a discharge resistor is conspicuous.

There is a power loss of about 100mW (R = 1Mohm) when AC240V is applied.

However, ROHM has built in the X-capacitor discharge function in the AC / DC IC, and realized small size with low standby power.

Using an X-capacitor discharge IC reduces power consumption to about 10mW.

Characteristics

The value of the X capacitor can be up to 8.2uF.

This eliminates the need for a discharge resistor in most white goods and reduces noise through the filter effect.

BM2P26CK Series

The PWM Type DC/DC converter for AC/DC provides an optimal system for all products that include an electrical outlet. The built-in 650V startup circuit contributes to low power consumption.

Small-sized power suppliescan be designed with a built-in current detection resistor for switching.
