I like the way I can choose what looks like a suitable part from the always-excellent Samtec catalogue, get a new part request submitted into our (BT) system using the excellent downloadable datasheets, drawings, footprints from the Samtec site, get the part onto my schematic, and by the time the PCB guy is ready to do the new library parts for the layout, I can stroll over to his desk with a sample in my hand ready for him (and me) to get a proper feel for, to check there are no surprises.
I guess it must cost them a little to run the service but I bet it gets Samtec a lot of design-in as a result. Keep up the great work!
