Discrepancys in STM32F415xx/417xx Datasheet and F4 Brochure

Hello,

while evaluating the STM32F417 for one of our upcoming products I started up with the F4 Brochure (ST Document#: A9R19CA; http://www.st.com/internet/com/SALES_AND_MARKETING_RESOURCES/MARKETING_COMMUNICATION/MARKETING_BROCHURE/brstm32f4.pdf). Digging deeper I looked into the datasheet (ST Document#: A9R19CC; http://www.st.com/internet/com/TECHNICAL_RESOURCES/TECHNICAL_LITERATURE/DATASHEET/DM00035129.pdf) and I found certein discrepancys relating the Peripherals. Until now I have come up with:

PeripheralF4 Brochure (STM32F417Vx/Zx/Ix)F4 Datasheet (STM32417Vx/Zx/Ix)
I2C2/2/23/3/3 (chapter 2)
UART3/3/32/2/2 (chapter 2)
USART3/3/34/4/4 (chapter 2)
16bit Timers2/2/212/12/12 (section 2.2.20)
12-bit ADCs16 / 2 / 243 (16ch) / 3 (24ch) / 3 (24ch) (chapter 2)

Well, the last two examples can be interpreted as typos, but what about the other ones? How many surpises are still to come?

And most interesting: Which document can I really trust?

Thanks for your answer or comments!

Trust the data sheet (which you MUST read along with the full user manual and the errata) and if it really matters then check with ST. The glossy sales thing should never be trusted for detailed work - they are usually rushed out. If you look carefully you aren't being cheated -  the data sheet part is better !

I've used ST micros a lot in the last 4 years and the data sheets and user manuals have been pretty accurate.

    Dear Michael,

thank you for your answer. As it seems I have to crawl through the manual for my evaluation. All along I have used the glossy marketing papers for our first rough selecttion, sorting out some competitors. If they have done a comparable bad work they might as well be still in the race if they would have done it thoroughly. But on the other hand I am not paid to do the work the marketing department of other companys should have done...
