SV Microwave offers the legacy RF series for high-performance applications. Discover the types of legacy RF series we offer, and check out their technical specifications and applications below.

Legacy RF Series

  • Type N RF Series
  • PN RF Series
  • TNC RF Series
  • PTNC RF Series
  • ZMA RF Series

Type N RF Series

The Type N RF Series can deliver consistent performance up to 11GHz. These connectors are durable, waterproof, and constructed in brass nickel plated. They are medium-sized connectors.

Type N RF Series

Technical Specifications

Impedance

50 Ohm

Frequency

11 GHz

Mating Cycles

500

Mating Torque

12 - 15 in - lbs

Temperature Rating

-65°C to +165°C

PN RF Series

The PN RF Series is a precision version of the Type N RF Series. It is constructed in stainless steel either passivated or gold plated. According to this military specification, these can meet or exceed all parameters of the MIL-PRE-39012 Type N connector.

PN RF Series

Technical Specifications

Impedance

50 Ohm

Frequency

18 GHz

Mating Cycles

500

Mating Torque

12 - 15 in - lbs

Temperature Rating

-65°C to +165°C

TNC RF Series

The TNC (Threaded Neill-Concelman) connector was invented in the late 1950s. It is a threaded version of the BNC connector and typically operates up to 11 GHz, with some versions supporting up to 18 GHz. These are ideal for applications where durability and robustness are crucial such as telecommunications and mil-aero.

TNC RF Series

Technical Specifications

Impedance

50 Ohm

Frequency

11 GHz

Mating Torque

12 - 15 in - lbs

Temperature Rating

-65°C to +165°C

PTNC RF Series

The PTNC RF series is a precision version of the TNC connector. It has superior electrical characteristics and can operate up to 18GHz. It is constructed in stainless steel either passivated or gold plated.

PTNC RF Series

Technical Specifications

ZMA RF Series

ZMA RF series is a bayonet coupling type connector. This design provides a high-coupling force and the quarter-turn feature allows for easy hand mating without any special tools. It can perform up to 18 GHz and is ideal for extreme vibration applications.

ZMA RF Series

Technical Specifications

Impedance

50 Ohm

Frequency

18 GHz, 12.4 GHz and 3 GHz

Mating Cycles

Hi, I'm just curious: why are N and TNC considered legacy?

I've not heard of ZMA before, where is that found, in some specific industries?
