Tyco Electronics set to ‘unleash the future’ with next-generation connector on June 1st.

THE FUTURE IS COMING AT 10 GB/S+

--Tyco Electronics set to ‘unleash the future’ with next-generation connector--

HARRISBURG, Pa. – May 18, 2010 – The future in backplane connectors is almost here. It’s rugged; it manages escalating data streams under the most adverse environments; and it’s super fast. Created for military and commercial aerospace settings, the next generation is designed to enable better equipment, improved communications, unmatched situational awareness, and technologically superior logistics and training.

“With the debut of the next-gen connector at the Military & Aerospace Electronics tradeshow, Tyco Electronics is realizing an important goal we set for ourselves,” said Kevin Rock, president, Aerospace, Defense & Marine, Tyco Electronics. “The goal was to achieve a system that combined the seemingly contradictory features of multigigabit speeds and extreme ruggedness to meet the critical information needs in today’s military and commercial aerospace environments. I’m very proud to say that our team has produced an outstanding product that more than met the challenges set to them.”

Tyco Electronics will be unleashing the future at the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum in San Diego, Calif., June 3-4, and at the international defense exhibition EUROSATORY in Paris, June 14-18. A live presentation and demos will be held at the MAE Forum, Tyco Electronics booth #600 on Thursday, June 3, at 1:00 p.m. and at EUROSATORY, Tyco Electronics booth #T 700 on Tuesday, June 15, at 2:00 p.m. For more information and to follow all the latest news on the future of backplane connectors, visit
