    Hi,

I am trying to find a replacement capacitor for my TV repair project.

The one removed I found to be cracked and burned and is labeled CBB81, 1000V, 68nJ.

I don't know what the nJ relates to.

This is a 1 inch long 3/4 inch high capacitor, blue in color.

I believe it is a film capacitor.

is the nJ comparable to some value in microFarads?

I have to believe that nJ is referring to nano-Joules, an amount of energy. But I could be wrong. I have not run across anything like that in the capacitors we deal with for most power supplies.

You may try asking one of the capacitor manufacturers on Element 14.

This is metallized polypropylene film capacitor, capacitance 68nF=0.068uF, tolerance 5%, nominal DC voltage 1000V

In abbeviation "nJ", "n" stands from "nF", "J" is tolerance symbol
