Low profile high efficiency 180 Watt AC-DC PSU occupies a 46% smaller footprint than industry norm

http://www.xppower.com/products/ECP180pr.jpgXP Power today announced the ECP180 series of low profile high efficiency ''green power'' open frame 180 Watt AC-DC power supplies. The IT and medically approved units have an average active mode efficiency of 93% and a no load power consumption of less than 0.5 W. With these energy saving credentials the ECP180 produces less heat and assists designers of end-systems to meet current ''green'' energy efficiency standards. The highly efficient design also enables the units to provide a convection cooled rating of 120 Watt, with the full output power of 180 Watts needing only 10 CFM of forced airflow.

Occupying 46% less footprint than the industry standard 3 x 5 inch power supply, the ECP180 measures just 50.8 x 101.6 (2.0 x 4.0 inches), with the lowest profile in its class of only 25.4 mm (1.0 inch). With PFC and a universal wide input range of 85 to 264 VAC, the ECP180 is available in 6 output voltage models providing the popular nominal outputs of +12, +15, +24, +28, +36 or +48 VDC. A secondary 12 VDC / 0.5 A fan output is standard across the range.

Meeting the ITE safety specifications of UL/IEC/EN 60950-1 and the latest stringent 3rd edition medical safety standards ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1 and IEC/EN60601-1, the ECP180 series is suitable for use in a wide range of information technology, industrial and medical equipment applications. The units also comply with the internationally recognised EMC standards EN55011 and EN55022 Class B specifications for conducted noise emissions.

The ECP180 accommodates an extended operating temperature range from -20 to + 70 degrees C, with no derating until +50 degrees C.

The ECP180 is available from approved regional distributors, or direct from XP Power and come with a 3 year warranty.
