Circuit Studio License recovery

My PC died, I have installed Circuit Studio on my new PC but need to recover my stand alone license.

Can anyone tell me how to recover this

  • Warning: I used AI to see if there is a known solution:

    Circuit Studio licenses (standalone .alf files) can be recovered by re-activating via the "My Account" section within the software. If the file is lost, log into the Altium account in CircuitStudio to regenerate it, or copy an existing backup .alf file to the security folder on your machine.

    Steps for License Recovery
    • Re-activation: Open Circuit Studio, go to the My Account area, and select your license to reactivate it, which regenerates the necessary .alf file.
    • Locating the File: The license file is stored in C:\ProgramData\Altium\CircuitStudio {36 character UID here}_Security.
    • Transferring to a New Machine: If moving to a new computer, copy the .alf file to the same folder mentioned above on the new machine, then select "Add Standalone License" in the software.
    • Alternative Support: If the account activation fails or the license is lost, contact support at {Link: element14 Community community.element14.com/.../resolving-license-errors}.
    • Lost License File: If the file cannot be recovered via account sign-in, you may need to re-download it from your initial purchase email or the Altium Support portal.

    My problem with My Account is that I cannot login and if  I select Forgot Password I just get a message saying "An error occured reseting your password"

    maybe their support should be contacted then? "Error reseting password" is something they should verify on server side...

    Thanks I will give them a try, wanst sure if it was your server or theirs..
