Banned... No good deed goes unpunished

I can't quite believe this. The Foundation has banned me from the Forum. No warning, no notification, just the ban.

I _think_ it's because I warned them about an article I'd read where the problems with delivery from RS weren't being addressed by either the Foundation or by RS themselves... And then daring to explain why I'd posted it on the Forum instead of PMing someone (Liz and Eben are in the States...).

http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=19273&p=188490

I wouldn't mind if I'd been slating the Foundation or RS directly!

And talking of professional moderation - why can't I see some of my posts? have they been moderated away? That not quite as professional as you might expect.

So basically, most of my posts seem to have been deleted. This place is worse that the Raspberry Pi forum you seem to think is so bad. Posts deleted without warning, arguments over *this* community erased.

Wow. Well done you lot. You've really got your own private whinge farm here, and as soon as anyone takes you to task the posts disapear. You really must have the moderators in your pockets! Come up, fess up, which of you is slipping the E14 mod boss one? I reckon its the one with the creepy avatar - almost every post get a 'like' even if is a bunch of condecending dag.

To get all Biblical on your arses "Let he who is without sin throw the first stone"

Don't give this post much chance of staying here for long.

Wow, stayed up longer than expected.....

I've a good mind to post about this place on the Raspberry Pi forum - well, I would if I could remmeber my password, and Wrdpress doesnt seem to want to remind me. So, a new account is in order.

The Foundation are perfectly aware of _this_ forum, Billy. I wouldn't bother if I were you - actually more likely to get you banned for being irrelevant.

I think we've probably run the gamut on this one, everyone.

I was more concerned with the fact that my posts here get deleted because I comment on peoples (perhaps tainted) bad attitude to the Raspberry Pi group, and yet that bad attitude is allowed to stay up. On a fporum of a company that has a contract the the Foundation the people here are bad mouthing. That seems odd to me.

One rule for Raspberry Pi haters, another  rule for people concerned about the community hatred here? Does that sound oddly familar?

Don't know if you read those forum T&Cs closely - apparently if the Report Abuse button is clicked, the post immediately gets hidden from view and looked at by a mod. I guess it just depends on how quickly the mods get to look at it. I suspect it's the difference between a perceived criticism of a Company and a perceived flaming of an Individual, or swearing or something like that, that gets the post reported and possibly hidden permanently.

I personally don't use the Report Abuse button as one person's abuse is another person's opinion.

I'm not sure that Hatred is the right word... more vociferous critique. I don't think any of us (with the exception of the person who accused others of 'scamming') who have been banned over there have a bad attitude towards the community or hate the Foundation. We just ask questions that aren't liked by them or they take as a perceived insult.

Well, if people get offended by straight talking and think its abuse they better not go to my home town!

I dunno about the hate though mate, some of the stuff I've read in this thread borders on hatred. Never understood it myself, why get so riled up - when it all comes down to, it nothing to do with anyone but the Raspberry people, so

seems wacka to go off on one. It's not like the whole things a disaster - seems pretty successful to me. Happens in sport too. Supporters on one team hate supporters of another. Never understood it.

Nobody is forcing you to read or agree with other people's opinions and views which are not based on hate as you pretend to infer.

I'm not a Raspberry Pi fanboy or hater, and I've been very critic of what the RPF is doing and particularly some of their members and associated minions, but I don't hate anyone, and if I make an ironic comment is because it is the way I feel it and how I express it which given that english is not my native language sometimes could be misinterpreted.

From there to call people "haters" is a big stretch. If you don't feel comfortable here you are free to go somewhere else.

Wow, that's pretty amazing.  Did you PM him for closing your thread?  Most forums I've ever been a part of would do a temporary ban of a person for questioning a mod for performing moderator duties.  No joke I was banned for a week for politely asking for calification over a post of mine that was moderated in a comic forum.  Shoot I once got a lifetime ban in another forum because I questioned a mod in an agressive way.  I thought he was being a jerk for deleting my post and told him so and was promptly banned.  But hey, you render to Ceaser's what is Ceaser's ya know?
