If its ok im going for any affordable USB power bank on the market that can charge an iphone or ipad to boot the pi2mB, opinions/suggestion/advice are welcome so I wont resulted a damage pi2mB
I think it was mentioned earlier in this thread, any power bank that can supply around 1A or more should work - if work means
to power the RPI and you don't have much else connected.
Just buy the beefiest one for your application, and try it. It won't damage the RPI, provided you use a decent brand.
If it works, do report back to help others considering the same one.
You can see an example of a typical USB power bank type thing in one of the previous responses (video):

Google has lots of examples of USB battery supplies you could use - e.g. this thread has plenty of links to known working ones, if
you're risk-averse:

Yeah most of the LiPo battery packs are quite capable of 1A. what they tend to lie about more is their capacity or slightly mislead you by saying for example 10AH assuming this is at 5V which is the out put then the total energy stored is 50Wh put in fact they are talking about the battery voltage of 3.7 V nominal so the energy storage is in fact 37Wh
Both! They first tell you numbers about the 3.7V battery, and THEN lie about ITs capacity. (I got a cheap one, They claim 20Ah, which is "at 3.7V", I measured the battery pack at 6600mAh. It was so cheap that it was still a good deal.).
I have a 20AH which actually must get somewhere close but it's actually its about the size of 3 x200G chocolate bars so is quite large.
Sometimes the claims are just not fundamentally supportable
Well my 20Ah one has 6 18650 cells in it. You can get those with 2900mAh capacity (or even more I haven't checked very carfully), so the other one that was "DIY, bring your own cells" where I put in cells from a reputable western supplier actually has close to 17.4Ah.
I use one of these power banks:
PB-A5200 | RS 5000mAh Lithium Polymer PB-A5200 | RS
It can deliver up to 2.1A and works very well.
Not a bad price considering the retailer Leon. To be honest unless the pack is a complete rubbish fraud well beyond the normal bending of the truth they are prone to any old pack is going to work find something approaching the capacity you want and hit the buy button.
BTW the 10Ah pack lasted something like 14 hours on my RPi so I'm sure that's good enough for most applications
I think the 2900mah is about the maximum for the size. You get 6000mah quoted but that's more like the 600mah because the cell is only half packed with gunk!!
Thanx Shabaz, yes it was mention earlier by greg fenton and a debate from roger wolf.. my only concern is, is it similar to pi 2 model b, every post and every vid I search are all on pi 1. I have a power bank to test its a probox, in corporate with sanyo and its charging my sis iphone. going for a new one and still searching for the almost similar dimension with the pi2mb that ouputs from 2 ports even better its a UPS technology where it can be charge while discharge, I just found my long lost usb sim modem going to reflash it and work it on the Linux OS, Yes I will report back since I created this discussion, but the pi2mb is still next to the probox powerbank not pluged hahaha im still digging some info and yet I still get a reponse with a pi1.
sorry shabaz im in a coding moment with some programs on windows, so a 'pi' means pi1 to me. please reply back I need some support for my pi2mB and still new with 'dis' magnificent computer. furthermore I experience a similar scenario with a Phat PSP and a slim PSP logically it is similar but its not and in the end on my old PSP post he fried his slim and xbox360 old model and new model of DVD-ROM logically similar to mod but in the end my DVD rom for the new xbox 360 model is catching dust.
guys, whats the best IDE for Linux?
