Raspberry Pi 3 und EnOcean Pi - Kompatibilitätsproblem

robertheinze
robertheinze over 9 years ago

We did a design challenge using EnOcean and Raspberry Pi.

    Forget Me Not Design Challenge

fvan Frederick did some work with external serial, and there may be a solution there by simply repointing it.

I'm interested in suing using the Pi3 for this, as the original was lacking a little for the amount of data we collected and graphed.

edit due to a minor spelling error kindly pointed out by a very observant reader.....

I installed the latest Raspbian and OpenHAB on my Pi3 yesterday. I can try the EnOceanPi this evening normally, so I'll post my findings here.

I was going to open up my book, but I'm not sure about the heat issue now.

Mind you I did overclock the Pi2 so maybe there is nothing to worry about ???

Be interesting to see how it goes, I put most of my sensors away.

Brian did some testing with reassigning the BT, but I had no time for testing so far. Would be interesting whether this helps ...

Another possibility is to use the USB dongle instead of the EnOceanPi, doing serial via USB.

I know, but  the RF-results of the stick are not comparable to the EnOceanPi and secondly we have a GSM dongle on the USB and don't want another USB-device on it ...

I can give it a try tomorrow, when I am back in the office ...

Has the latest firmware not fixed these problems?

    You're right!

I rolled back the changes from Brian's procedure and restored all files.

    Then:

    - Make sure everything is up-to-date: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade && sudo rpi-update (I think rpi-update did the trick for me)
    - Enable Serial via raspi-config, but edit /boot/cmdline.txt to disable serial console
    - Use /dev/ttyS0 instead of /dev/ttyAMA0

    - Reboot

Data is now coming in OpenHab via EnOceanPi and EnOcean binding:

I think I am getting crazy on this ...

    Some questions:

When you boot with your setup, do you get "Rasbian GNU/Linux 8 raspberrypi tty1"?

Because, that is what I get ...

How do you address the EnOceanPi in OpenHab? With ttyAMA0?

    Do you have bluetooth enabled?

On the RPi2 with jessie I masked serial-getty with

sudo systemctl mask serial-getty@ttyAMA0.service  - what do you get when you do sudo systemctl status serial-getty@ttyAMA0.service?

I have no glue, about what's wrong in my setup?

    Thanks
