Ideas for Raspberry Pi Zero Projects

spannerspencer

So, we've got the Raspberry Pi Zero games console here, Problemchild mentioned a great idea about turning an old stereo into a modern media player, and Workshopshed has already designed a Pi Zero case for 3D printing.

All of which makes me wonder what other kinds of projects you guys think the Pi Zero would be ideal for?

And, for that matter, if you have any Pi Zero projects planned yet?

Why would you want to remap the USB pins?

Simply that the USB connector is on the side, GPIO is on the top/bottom. Just thinking about a wifi module that was as easy to use as a dongle but with the the form factor of a hat.

Yep the best way of doing that otherwise you'll need a micro to standard USB adaptor before you start!

You could make a "shoe". :-)

clicks on the bottom of the 'pi' and has pogo pins to connect to the USB DATA pads on the bottom of the zero.....

    Wow - that looks nice!

Best thing about this design is that you have given it 'Apple' level simplicity in looks - no clutter or excessive buttons, etc.

Really clean design. You're a pro with your work : )

    Is that an OLED?

I like the size it works well . I presume he's used a 3D printer here or as he repurposed an existing case ?

    It's a monochrome I2C/SPI OLED display from Adafruit, 128x64 characters (https://www.adafruit.com/product/938)

Pity these little displays are so expensive ...

I am new to rpi and am waiting to get a RPI Zero, and am thinking of making a retro portable using a PSP case as its basic design/housing, need to know a few things such as controler boards being able to use original buttons/layout, battery, is I can us the original screen or should I opt to get a new one. Any answers to these inquiries would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks.
