I do actually have a few devices around the house that are monitoring various parameters wirelessly ...
One of these monitors the time via GPS satellite, the other monitors the time and weather via Wi-Fi / internet...
I also have a clock that monitors the atomic clock in Colorado and my original Henrietta thermostat project (my first element14 project) which is still running.
And then of course there is Alexa ... who is monitoring me...
I don't, but I don't have a large home and I'm here 99% of the time. I guess I could monitor network usage or electrical, but that would take the fun out of asking my kid what she's up to, or getting my exercise walking through the house turning off light switches.
I have the app and tech to monitor my electricity, but I have to admit I don't monitor it much. I use it more to schedule on/off times.
I do monitor my septic pump activity somewhat regularly, using a PumpSpy smart plug. That was totally worth every dollar I spent on it - far less costly and far more useful than the super expensive control panel that runs the pump. The PumpSpy sends me emails and push notifications when things go wrong, so I don't really need to monitor it much.
I also have an IoT cam that I bought to spy on a birds nest. I've since used it to help live-trap-and-release squirrels out of my attic (so they didn't have to stay locked up more than a few minutes), and I use it to spy on my 3D printer, which has been relocated into my wife's art studio. Also totally worth every penny
