Poll: Why Haven't You Applied to the Wurth Sensor FeatherWing RoadTest?

I have been running the Wurth Sensor Feather Wing Roadtest for several weeks now. I've received 4 applicants. I've spoken to the sponsor about it. We wanted to get a better idea why members haven't applied. Thanks.

  • I chose swamped with work, which is true. But I agree with . Still figuring out the links on the new platform. I very much like the feather boards. I’ll think about how to use this in a road test, but time is short.

    platformio is probably easy to since there’s a sibling relationship to arduino, but I have never installed it.

  • I appreciate everyone's input. I'm surprised myself. I thought there would be a lot of applications from new roadtesters.

    RE new set of tools… that put me off a bit also. Wurth recommends PlatformIO which looks good but I don’t have installed. The github source shows the code which looks like Arduino.  As an exercise, I was considering porting it to Circuit Python although I’m not a Python person. 

  • This is a nice combination of sensors and development board which should generate interest. I haven’t applied at least partially to give others an opportunity since I’ve been successful in the past but if the number of suitable applications is low I will make a submission. 

  • I am pretty surprised this isn't more popular. It is a very useful kit and a nice form factor.

    I would love the kit and make use of it, and I debated applying as usual, which involved devising a neat application, as usual.

    I have even already procured a Featherwing to help complete the system.

    The reason(s) I haven't applied for the road test are that I am pretty busy on other projects and I also want to give others a better opportunity to win.

    I guess I could whip up a proposal tonight in case there aren't enough other suitable applications, but if there are other decent proposals, they should be chosen first.

    I'll even post it publicly in case that helps anyone.
