Poll: Why Haven't You Applied to the Wurth Sensor FeatherWing RoadTest?

I have been running the Wurth Sensor Feather Wing Roadtest for several weeks now. I've received 4 applicants. I've spoken to the sponsor about it. We wanted to get a better idea why members haven't applied. Thanks.

  • Two reasons for me:

    1 is that the switch of platforms left me a bit confused as to what all is going on - in Jive there was a summary of contests past, present, and future... not sure if RoadTests were on that same page, but I'm pretty sure a similar summary existed for that. Right now I'm still not sure where to find that.

    2 is that this particular combination is actually very interesting, but I'm already getting the data I want using a Wemos D1 Mini with DS18B20 sensor probe and BME280 temperature/humidity/pressure sensor - in a more compact format.

    sort of also a 3rd reason - I'm not sure if that setup requires learning a new set of tools - I've pretty much settled into Arduino for the small boards (Python for Raspberry Pi) and I'm still too short on time and energy to start something new right now.

    Thanks for your comment. I guess we thought having the enrolling roadtesting in the middle of the page gives it more visibility. Interesting that you liked it on the right column. I'll mention it to our developer. Thanks for sharing.

  • I came across this roadtest just few days ago via a Twitter post from Wurth electronics. I'll consider applying for it in this week.

    I think the poor visibility of the road test page is why I missed it. In the old website, you could see the road tests widget on the right hand side along with webinars and events. 

    Maybe the new website also needs that widget just above the events widget.
