What would be your one positive commentary and your one negative commentary regarding the RoadTest Review?

 

rscasny post Do You Know Enough or Are You Good Enough To Be a RoadTester? motivated me to post this discussion. After reading RS's post a flood of experiences resulted in me responding to his post. After thinking about it, I wonder what the other members think about the RoadTest. What do they like? What don't they like?

 

Responding to this discussion post is not limited to individuals that have been awarded a RoadTest Review. My goal is to read posts from the perspectives of all participants. That includes the people that haven't even submitted an application.

 

Share your experience. I like this. I hate that. The limit is you only get one positive and one negative. I look forward to maybe having an aha moment.

    I think that RoadTest is a very good way for companies to get real insight into their products, instead of a simple "4 star this thing was ok" on amazon, and that the RoadTester gets great hardware and a good learning experience.

     

    However, I personally think that (and I know I'm wrong) newbies aren't as trusted(I wouldn't trust myself if I was in Mr. Scasny's position) and that it's more competitive, since they don't have the same amount of experience. But then thats a very selfish way of saying it since you have to get experience from doing it over and over again, and those raodtesters with 10s of RoadTests in their record started out the same as the newbies.

    So, the bad part about RoadTest is that there is no way to ensure that the reviewer actually does what s/he is supposed to.

     

    If I'm wrong, please correct me, I haven't been accepted yet since I've only just found RoadTest program 3 days ago.
