TDK-Lambda LS25-5 RoadTest Review

This is a 'first look' at the TDK-Lambda LS25-5LS25-5 Power Supply.  This unit has a nice solid feel to it and is well built.  This initial review only applies to the mechanical design.  I have attached some pictures to give you an idea of the construction and size of this 5v/5-amp (25-watt) power supply.

The mounting hole options provided (2 on the bottom and 2 on the side) are placed to where an incorrect screw length would not cause any problems with the circuit board (I look for this sort of detail due to experience ... once, a friend of mine had used a replacement screw for an amp chasis.  It was too long and shorted the chasis to the power rail and did some serious damage to the amplifier.)  So ... this is a good, fool-proof feature!

Overall, I really like this power supply (even without plugging it in, yet).  The ONLY thing I (personally) don't care for is that the input and output terminals are on the same end of the unit, right next to each other.  I prefer to have the input & output termeinals located on opposite ends of the chasis.  Again, that's just a personal preference.

I'm looking forward to putting this little power supply to an electrical test, next.  Thank you element-14 and TDK-Lambda for giving me the opportunity to RoadTest your product!
