Can't see any discussion !

Hello all,

 

Once logged in, I move to the "discussion" tab of the roadtest group to see what's new that I might have missed.

But there is nothing to display in that tab, despite the tab itself saying there are about 130 discussions.

 

Does anyone have the same problem?

I'm using SeaMonkey 2.0.11 (FireFox 3 equivalent) if that matters.

  • Well, to be more precise, this is an intermittent problem. Most of the time I don't see any discussions, but just now that the page has refreshed itself, I was seeing them.

    After I have posted this message, I'm quite sure I won't see them again.

    I believe this has to do with something in the session stored on the server, but can't figure out what it could be.

    I don't know what is causing that. I've just tried in IE and FF and it works fine. I'm going to c+p this to teh feedback page and see if any of our developers can help,

    If that's of any help, here is a little experiment that I tried:

     

    Go to the discussion page, nothing but the link to start a new discussion

    Login --> No discussions

    Go to cookie manager in my browser, remove all cookies but the JSESSIONID one --> Still no discussions, got logged out

    Remove the last cookie --> Seeing discussions

    Login again --> Discussions are gone


    This is very disturbing, and I don't think there is anything encoded in the JSESSIONID value that would help. But that Id surely points to some data inside the publication system that makes it decide I should not see any discussions.

    It does sound strange. I did talk to Christie and she suggested a workaround. Go into your settings and set your content preferred language to none  and it should work. Thanks for your feedback. I'll pass it on, it may help it get fixed

    Tried that, seems to help a bit. At first it did not stick, meaning that it reverted back to English after a logou/login sequence.

    But now that it seems to stick, it seems it allows to see the discussions.

    I'll play around a bit more to see if that solves it.

    Maybe it's related but it should be noted that my country is set to France but the language is set to English (and so was the content). Don't know if it could have any impact on the matter at hand.
