I would really enjoy to test some new arduino stuff. I got some projects in mind, like a midi controler or a 3d printer that would be good to have arduino stuff to do it.

Myself i wanted to try several of the road test for my hobby as well as my line of work .The 3D printer i felt that i could apply it to both parts of my life it would come in handy in model railroading since the hobby has gotten away from kit bashing to buy and run with no pleasure in building the item. As far as work hours i can see a great use in the training part of my job creating training aids for Soldiers to use. As far as the controllers goes they would play a big part in making model railroad more digital

Hi Michael,
yes I can see a 3D printer would be brilliant for creating custom parts for model railroads (assuming they are not too big). Your mentioned of digital railways got me wondering if anyone had developped an open system for digital control of locomotives?

There is a DCC-library for the Arduino. I am running different programs on the Raspberry PI, which I would like to connect to the Arduino, but I did not yet found the time. See http://mrrwa.org/
