What products are you excited to get a hold of in the future?  Is there anything out there you've been watching and just waiting to be released to get your hands on?   Let us know!

I would really enjoy to test some new arduino stuff. I got some projects in mind, like a midi controler or a 3d printer that would be good to have arduino stuff to do it.

I'd be keenly interested in some low power wireless (ZigBee, 6LoWPAN, DASH7, etc) demo kit. TI has some nice stuff as do some of the other vendors. The "smart lightbulb" that Google is coming out with…

Hi Nicole, Asking for ideas is a very good idea, especially since your road tester base has increased dramatically over the last month. As for what I would like to road test, Test equipment, oscilloscopes…

Instead of handing out items for free in the hope of a detailed, useful review - allow customers to post reviews of products purchased from Newark/element-14 and reward them with discount coupon codes for future purchases.

    John, All,

From a supplier stand point, I like very much this idea of  rewarding with a discount coupon for future purchases. This is something I will bring in my next discussion with the element 14 team if I see some interest from several of you.

I am also very interested to get your comments regarding another idea that would go beyond the current Roadtest and the posting of the reviews as they are done today. Goal would be to provide vouchers to someone who would run a real project with the product offered.Regular sharing of his progress and sharing of his project experience with this product would trigger more and more vouchers.

I think it could have a high interest for the other designers but again this is only an idea. The decision to bring it to the next step is in your hands. Just let me know.

    Hi All,

To add onto Peggy's point, as an Element14 supplier, we're actively looking for enthusiastic people to develop real projects (application notes) for our products. I think this goes far and beyond what a simple review would be capable of. In spirit with road test, we would love to supply to needed tools for free given the presence of some really cool designs.

I think this is an excellent proposal, in fact, close cooperation between supplier and developer will I am sure reap many benefits for all concerned. It is through networks such as element 14 we can meet and work together to develop and perfect cutting edge product. In fact the out of the box developer/innovative mind of the enthusiast is entirely complementary to the methodical and market led manufacturing mindset of supplier, we could be seen as all part of the same team. Structure to share reward with all stakeholders is to be welcomed. Talk is good!

I like the idea of direct cooperation between the developer community, like the one we have on Element-14, and the manufacturers.

I would love to develop an idea that will be covered in one of the application notes. It would be even better if the development tools were provided for free - this would definitely easy the development progress.

This process would be usefull for students and schools, as this will make it possible for them to more recent electronics for the students to work with.

    Now for the brainstorming image

Let us know what you have to offer. Provide good technical data that is easy to access. If you want to spark interest, start a blog here and advertise it's existence, especially with the top members, We like to play. Finally,  start a contest foster to development.

    Regards,

For the Microcontroller work there's been some modules out for wifi such as the TI Wifi Module that we saw earlier in the year.

I've also recently seen the ESP8266 which is a real budget module making it ideal for makers and hobbists but also a possiblity for IOT devices.
