What products are you excited to get a hold of in the future?  Is there anything out there you've been watching and just waiting to be released to get your hands on?   Let us know!

I would really enjoy to test some new arduino stuff. I got some projects in mind, like a midi controler or a 3d printer that would be good to have arduino stuff to do it.

I'd be keenly interested in some low power wireless (ZigBee, 6LoWPAN, DASH7, etc) demo kit. TI has some nice stuff as do some of the other vendors. The "smart lightbulb" that Google is coming out with…

Hi Nicole, Asking for ideas is a very good idea, especially since your road tester base has increased dramatically over the last month. As for what I would like to road test, Test equipment, oscilloscopes…

Now special interest TMDXDOCKH52C1TMDXDOCKH52C1 - Experimenter Kit from TI ("28Х+ARMRegisteredCortex-M3 Concerto").
Also interested in sets of processors with core ARM7, ARM9, ARM11 and various technologies of data input/output and wireless data transmission.

Defiantly FPGA's. But I would also like to test out a fluke multimeter! image. Always have image.

These are things that would be cool to road-test:

    ProductComments
    Scopes
Soldering StationsHot Air for smd components would be nice
    Workbench Power Supplies
    "Heavy Duty" Power SuppliesHigh Current
    ThermocouplesREALLY High-temp measurements
    ThermistorsHigh Accuracy temp measurements
    Arduino or ARM Controller Boards
    Zigbees or similar
AccelerometersWhy yes officer, I DO know how fast my autonomous robot was going! Thanks for asking though!
FPGA Kits/Dev BoardsSomething large enough to try CPU designs
Stepper MotorsHigh Resolution/Half stepping, Large ounce/inch Rated
Stepper Motor DriversHigh Resolution/Half stepping, High Power
Laser DiodesHigh power IR or UV would be cool
Laser Safety Glasseseyesight good. seared retinas, bad!
VFD PanelsCool projects always need cool readouts!

Yes, I know. I have a LOT of ideas bouncing around in my head! image

Whilst I would love a new oscilloscope, I think the reality is that there would probably only be one up for grabs, and they would be rare beasties, perhaps only when a new model appears on the market. I would like to see some tools that are a bit further down the food chain, but no less vital in an engineer's day-to-day job. For example, pliers, side-cutters, screwdrivers, multi-tools and tweezers. Soldering irons (and most notably hot-air stations) would be great. I'm sure many of us are struggling on with 20 year old gear!

I would like to see more components included too. Resistor design kits are always great to have access to - similarly with capacitor and inductors. Ideally close tolerance E96, but that's probably just being greedy.

    Good question...

When I think about which products I would like to test and which products would be good and reasonable for the element14 community, I come up with the following:

    • Development boards in general - I prefer ARM boards, Cortex-M3 or ARM9
    • Google ADK board
    • Fluke equipment - multimeters, etc.
    • Tektronix equipment - oscilloscope, dso, logicanalyzers
    • Hi-logic FPGA development boards - usefull for running different soft-cores

I appreciate the opportunity to test this for free, and I hope to see some products in these categories soon - I probably will :-)

    Thank you in advance.

    Best Regards

    Thomas Jespersen

For learning new items i will roll for fpga development boards, arduino stuff, google adk board, accelerometers, robot kits. Intresting items are too 3d printer, cnc and other,
