Show & tell, RoadTesters!  What electronics innovations are you most proud of having a hand in creating?

Sometimes it might feel strange to "toot our own horns", but there's nothing wrong with being proud of a project you worked on! 

 

Were you involved in a project that helped save your company money and kept people from losing their jobs?  Maybe it's something that you designed for a friend or family member that helped them improve their lives in some way?  Did you create something to save our planet's future resources?   Maybe you're working on the next coolest thing since 3-D interactive video gaming?

 

We want to hear all about it!  Time for "Show and Tell", RoadTesters!

  • Hi Nicole,

     

    The most satisfying job I did in my career is moving to a new group within the company that was struggling with going from $1M/yr to $20M/year.

    None of the previous members had much management experience and as you can guess, they were in over their heads.

    Within two years, I reorganized the group and got all of the reports and budgets organized.

    Then I trained and managed the group to the Companies first CMM level 2 assessment.

    At that point we had a group that was not only the best technically, but was under sufficient management that even the customer acknowledged that we had greatly improved. 

    The result was a win taking the contract to $50M/yr.

     

    You rarely get an opportunity to influence a major contract with such dramatic improvement, but I helped them adapt to the new management style and still keep their technical output at high levels.

     

    I know I left the group in much better shape than how I found it and made the young Program Manager look good when he inherited an abomination.

    Very satisfying.
