Who are in the Black List ?

firatkocak
firatkocak over 13 years ago

Hi,

I would like to know who are in the Black List. To be able to be selected for a Roadtest, one should not be in the Black List. It's OK. It is something i support. But, i think, we must either know those who are in the Black List or someone in the Black List should not be able to enroll a Roadtest. Maybe i am in that Black List, but i don't know it. This is my opinion. What do you say ?

I think at least if you have not submitted a review you will be in the black list, and might I add, that is deserved image

Other than that I can't speculate, but I think anyone who would be in the said black list should be informed personally and not publicly, the system will take care of not taking those entries into account.

Also then anyone who thinks this hasn't been a just decision can try to redeem themselves to the party responsible for the roadtest.

My point being, we don't need to make it into a public event image

But that's just my two (€) cents.

    Regards,

    Elias

    Hi Guys.

The only people we deem ineligible for RoadTest are those who have been selected past winners, received free product, but never posted a review. As Elias says, we're not in the business of public shaming, but it's not too difficult to figure out if you're on the list. image

Also, we wait a few months after a RoadTest product arrived before deciding that a recipient is not going to publish a review. We try to help remind people by posting follow-up reminders on element14, because we know that as cool as testing free product is, life sometimes intrudes.

    Hope this helps.

    Sagar

As much as I would like to voice my opinion as to why this is even a question, I won't - not the place.

But I have to agree with Elias, something like this isn't nessesary nor does it need to be public.

Yes, I know image If i did not post a review for a Roadtest i have received or forgot it, then i am really deserved image No doubt !

I don't need to know all of those who have not posted their reviews or simply The Black List. I just want to see if i am really in the Black List. Maybe i should be informed that there is a Roadtest that i haven't posted yet ( agree with you ) . The best, I should not be able to enroll for the future Roadtests. The System must not accept my application. I have been away from electronics for monts. I really don't remember if there was a Roadtest review i have forgotton to post. If so, i would like to finish what i am supposed to do.

    Regards,

What if I was asked to do a review and yet never received the product. I can't really be black listed in this case.

    Some clarifications:

    1. The blacklist only applies for enrolees who have received the product and not provided a review within two months of receipt.

    2. If there are extenuating circumstances (e.g., illness, family emergency), we will of course take that into account.

    3. If a blacklisted enrolee goes back and provides the review required, we will take that into account as well.

    4. We will not publish the blacklist for public consumption.

I am sure we can all agree that element14 is providing an outstanding service to the engineering community by giving leading products away, free of charge.  I am sure we can also all agree that providing a review of the product, which is what the manufacturers want (because they want community feedback), is not unreasonable.  I am sure finally that we can agree that it is not unreasonable to manage this service so that we can best secure the reviews.

    Thank you.

Blacklist isn't for Public consumption? Would have been tasty, yumyum.

    +1 to Firat's post.

I'd also like to know if I am on a blacklist. As far as I know, I am not - but if I am I'd like to understand why, and if possible fix it.

    Best,

    Göran

    I'll clarify this -

If you were selected for a Road Test, and didn't post a review two months after you received the product (or didn't explain why the review would be late to those organising it), you are put on the black list.

    We do not:

    1. Blacklist people who never received the product.

    2. Blacklist people who have come to us and explained why they couldn't post a review on time.

    We do:

    1. Remove people from the black list if they eventually post the required review.

    Thanks.

Thank you Christian for the clarification.  It is a reminder to us all to do what we promised we would do.  I'll have to review my reviews to see if I missed something, but we must also remember that recently there are a great deal more members in each drawing, so our chances are reduced.

In the early days of RoadTest, I reviewed many products.  I would be interested in the list of products that have been shipped to me, so I can double check my review submittals.  Is there an easy way to check online?
