Road test hardware delays

Exact same situation here. Sent my order on Dec 4, and I've yet to receive it. In fact, someone elses order showed up for an unrelated project/competition.

Unfortunately it does happen sometimes. There were some parts for the Forget-Me-Not challenge that I never received (the EnOcean sensors). Your best bet is to contact Christian for help.

Fortunately I received everything on time and very quickly

The only issue I had was with the TI LaunchPad which was broken, but Christian Defeo has readily sent me another board

There are parts from the Forget Me Not Challenge that I still have not received as well, although they were parts ordered from the budget. I feel badly for Christian in this situation though, because there isn't much he can do. In the end, Newark ships the parts. I've been in contact with Christian the entire time and he is already aware of the situation. I also ordered a load of samples from TI through E14 and they have not shown up yet. There are two things about this type of situation that, I think, are negative:

1. The contestant stops blogging since they cannot move forward, and it appears to everyone on the community that they didn't conform with the contest guidelines.
2. The contest is about 4 months in duration. If a contestant waits two months for parts, the other contestants clearly have an advantage.

It's an obvious issue that needs attention, but we, as community members, are shielded or veiled behind the scenes and aren't aware of the real situation.

I've been very lucky with the Forget Me Not as I got all my parts within some days of "ordering". I'm still waiting on my prize though

For this challenge however, I'm waiting on parts also. We'll see what happens, but with 2/3 of the challenge already past, I'm starting to fear I won't make it ...

I think there is a major problem with Logistics and not much Christian can do (well apart from get frustrated).

Anyone affected should be including it in their blog, as just like emergencies/exceptional events they can be considered in the final analysis.

It of course doesn't help anyone trying to finish, or moving forward, and I sympathise with those concerned.

So I called Newark/Element14 about the delay and they told me the item is discontinued and they canceled my order. They told me that I can't request a substitute, only the one who placed the order can. I am a little concerned that they never informed me of this cancellation, my packing list only says back ordered. I have notified Christian, but I hate to bother him as he is very busy already. I am a bit disappointed.

I do feel real bad for Christian, and hated to bother him. Newark/Element14 gave me no choice, I wish it didn't come to this unnecessary hassle for him.

Dale, you got me curious about my order, so I checked the availability of one big ticket item on my list. Sure enough, the available stock is ZERO! When I ordered this 2 months ago, there was available stock and now the website says there won't be any more until the 23rd of February!!!
