I have a problem with CCS.

I cannot follow the instruction on the little instruction manual because the device TMS320VC5505 is not listed as target...

I updated every component of CCS, but still, the device is not listed.

Does anyone has/had the same problem?

Does anyone knows how to solve it?

I really want to try this device...

Davide

I think this can happen if you plug the device into the PC before the driver was installed (or before it completed it's churning away).

To resolve the issue, shut down all applictaions so you have nothing running, plug the device into the USB port and do the following.

I'll assume you're using Windows XP for now, if not adjust the instructions as necessary.

    Right-Click on 'My Computer'

    Select 'Manage', then 'Device Manager'

In the device tree which appears, look for anything which has a RED CROSS or YELLOW BANG (Exclamation mark) on it.

If you see any of them, look at them and decide if this could possibly be your ezDSP which has been mis-identified. If you see one, click it once and then press DEL to un-install it. REMOVE THE DEVICE FROM THE USB PORT NOW, before it tries to re-install the wrong driver.

If you did not see any yellow bangs, or red crosses, then look under all the USB branches of the treee - is your ezDSP listed there? If so, delete it, and unplug it.

Now re-follow the (tiny) instructions which came with the ezDSP to the letter, do not try to preempt or second guess the process.

    I hope this helps.

    -Kenny
