As engineers we rely a lot on software tools, and many of them are not free. I wonder if the roadtest program could also include software.

That's a good suggestion. However, I think there aren't many software launches as much as new hardware is launched. Also, the software license usually expires in a year or so but that's not the case with hardware (until it gets some fault). You get to keep the hardware for lifetime
