The kits for the Weller Micro Soldering Kit and Filtration Unit arrived. In this video I set up the ZeroSmog Guard

  • It's great for collecting the fumes in closed spaces.Does it have the filters pre-installed inside ?

    yes, and 4 spare pre-filters. Those have to be replaced the most frequent.

  • Wow, these videos almost make me want to try creating my own PCBs and soldering them.

  • I placed a webcam in the fume extractor's inlet.

    Then:

    • wetted an iron
    • use it on a board with flux (because that generates visible smoke)
    • re-wetted the iron

    Although some parts are sped up, the parts where the iron is in action, are on normal speed.

    How loud is it during operation? Hard to say from these videos?

    It has a few presets. From soft zoom to strong fan sound
