How About RoadTesting the Dev Board with the Coolest Touch Display--STM32L4R9?

I launched a roadtest about two weeks ago for the STM32L4R9 Discovery Board by ST Microelectronics: STM32L4R9I-DISCO Discovery Kit

 

I've actually had it on my desk for a week or so before that. Whenever I had a moment, I couldn't help examining its tiny display, which is a daughterboard for the main STM 32 board. I was curious about the display. I read up on it an. It features the TouchGFX framework for creating innovative embedded GUIs with high-end graphics and smooth animations on microcontrollers.features. Here's a few pics:

It's not your everyday wearable display. Viewing a video of it in action is also pretty stunning:

  • I had seen this and thought it looked like an awesome little display that could be used for wearables or as a small HMI for a product where you don't want a larger screen.  The board is loaded with a ton of sensors and even includes a 8-bit camera which looks interesting so it is pretty self contained.  Although I have some experience with STM products, I'm a bit packed with other projects and another review, otherwise I would have jumped on this one. It should be a fun board for others to get started or expand into the STM ecosystem.

    Hi Jon,

     

    Agreed, it looks really well laid out. I think the camera is just the interface, as on the raspberry pi, rather than an actual camera.
