Roadtesting stats

Today out of boredom and curiosity, motivated by other posts on site stats I decided to compute some stats of the published roadtests. There are a couple of interesting things that can be computed and would be interesting to know, specially in terms of correlations. For instance, do member points increase the chances of winning expensive items? What about number of posts? There are many questions I was wondering about to better understand the dynamics of the system. One of the first questions (and easiest to answer with my data) was how many users have won and published different amount of roadtests. And the results I obtained were these:

1: 359

2: 68

3: 32

4: 11

5: 9

6: 10

7: 7

8: 2

9: 0

10: 2

11: 3

12: 1

13: 1

14: 2

15: 0

16: 0

17: 1

18: 1

That is, 356 users have won and published 1 roadtest, and 1 user has won and published 18 roadtests. Ideally I would like to count won roadtests (not just published ones), having such data would also be useful to calculate the number of users that win roadtests and never publish anything. Other interesting stats could be to analyse trends, for instance, have the number of words in roadtests reviews increased? As the competition has gotten harder, I would expect to see some visible trends since the beginning of the roadtesting program.

Hey neuromodulator Interested as to how you got these stats. I've just run a quick query on the database and can confirm your stats are mostly correct with a few noteworthy exceptions (like Shabaz has…

I stand corrected. My 'created content' list contains really 17 reviews, starting in 2014. Never would have guessed that much... But I need to admit - most of them are smaller ones, other people do a much…

Interesting stats! What bumped me up was I did three reviews in one go once, a triple RoadTest, they were three IoT board reviews that were needed simultaneously. And sometimes I'll do a review if no-one…

It is pretty interesting that about 70% of road tests are done by members who are doing one for the first time.

One thing to be aware of is that not all road tests show up with road test icons.

Here is an example of a huge road test that has no road test icon on related blogs: TI and Würth Elektronik LED RoadTest+

    Interesting.

I'd swap the columns and say that 1 person has published 18 RT's and 359 have published a single.

You have read Randalls process and while he's been doing it for a relatively small amount of time, the process has been 'evened out' so to speak.

The other stats nay be difficult to quantify but what could be interesting is a way of comparing the size of each type of RT ... ie how namy words did each applicant provide ... some are large and others not many and it's the same product. image

Actually its more like 36% as there are around 990 roadtest reviews

Thats not a problem as I'm getting the list from: RoadTests & Reviews

What is, is that I'm just considering the posted reviews...

Yeah, I suspect that roadtests are getting longer in terms of words, but considering some roadtests are spread in multiple parts, it may get a bit trickier to quantify that.
