Freescale K40 Kinetis Tower System

The TWR-K40X256 is a Tower Controller Module compatible with the Freescale Tower System. It can function as a stand-alone, low-cost platform for the evaluation of the Kinetis K30 and K40 family of microcontroller (MCU) devices. The TWRPI-SLCD segment LCD daughter card is included as part of the TWR-K40X256.

The TWR-K40X256 features the Kinetis K40 low-power microcontroller based on the ARM® Cortex™-M4 architecture with USB 2.0 full-speed OTG and segment LCD display controllers. The K40X256 includes 256Kbytes of program flash storage and an additional 256Kbytes of FlexMemory non-volatile storage that can be used as additional program flash memory, data flash, or variable size/endurance EEPROM.

The TWR-K40X256 is available as a stand-alone product or as a kit (TWR-K40X256-KIT) with the Tower Elevator Modules (TWR-ELEV) and the Tower Serial Module (TWR-SER). The TWR-K40X256 can also be combined with other Freescale Tower peripheral modules to create development platforms for a wide variety of applications.

What is happening, Just realised I am supposed to be road testing this product. I am still yet to receive it... Is there a problem with the shipping of this product???

I just read another post by Alistair and it seems I wouldn't have gotten any notifications however I haven't gotten the kit yet. If/when I do, I'll be happy to update and subsequently pass along a review ....

Guess I need to check into my profile a whole lot more.

Mmm, I'm listed above as a 'Road Tester' and appears that I have been approved when I check my profile, unfortunately I haven't received the kit, any notifications or emails (private or otherwise). Disappointing since I would love to both try and write a review. I only noticed because I also was interested in the TI FRAM kit as another component to a system I envisiaged with the above Freescale part.

Maybe with KioseusZnook saying no one appeared there as of Jun 14th, perhaps my demo kit to review is winging it's way to me now?

As I've recently become interested in Freescale's TWR system I would welcome any Road Tester's review of this, but why, pray tell, does no name appear in the Road Testers panel above? Did this particular RT get pulled?

Freescale's CodeWarrior Development Studio for Microcontrollers v10.1(Eclipse IDE 3.4) supports the following platforms:

It's a good time to tryout freescale mcu, always thought it's a bit hard. Looks great for my home alarm system with contur sensor, gsm module and rfid identification. Is it possible to start development in linux?
