Q&A
What we would like to see in a person doing the Road Test?
The person should be using our HH DMM with the Blue Tooth Adapter and his Android device to perform his work in a better way than before (more productive, efficient).
The main criteria of selection should be the road tester must own an Android device (phone or tablet).
Are there certain application areas we would like folks working on?
None in particular, but ideally should be in an industrial environment if possible.

As you are now aware. I am one of the recipients of these devices. I'm very excited to get started in playing with these (perhaps finding an academic application at my university as I am a physics major). I'm definetly welcoming any suggestions for tests to perform for my review. I feel like I just won the lottery! I almost had a heart-attack when I got home from class and found a box from element14 at my door (thought my Raspberry Pi had somehow magically arrived)!
I have always wanted to test one of these. I was chosen a few years back to be part of a study on DVM's and there features. I think it was for this line of meters they never told us the brand. But when I saw these they looked and were packed with the features we had come up with. I have been a couple Flukes and was afraid to purchase something elese not knowing how it would hold up to an industrial enviroment and how they would work with the vast rang of tasks I tend to get assigned in the world of industrial automation. I would love to know anyones input on these compared to a Fluke 1587 or 87 IV.

Really useful since i have to go around areas and not being able to place my meter anywhere , like high up checking the air-conditioner split unit's indoor condenser's voltage and Vsense line .
The bluetooth functionality and the U1272 is certainly fantastic , not a extra but a big addition that is really pointless without the bluetooth .
This bluetooth adaptor and app are really interesting.
In the company where I'm doing internship, I we often have to take measurements from diferent points at the same time in roder to conduct troubleshooting. (and since I'm the intern I''m the one who has to bear the work of going from pont to point and carry the metters). The fluke 233 helps but its really inpractical to carry arround more than one remote display. This bluetooth display will allow me to take measurements and monitor up to 3 metters at the same time in the convenience of my android phone.
Apple has locked up many iOS's bluetooth functionality , so , yes , something can make use of a jailbreak'd iOS and use the functionalities but really , Agilent won't want to see that happening .
It would seem that iPad holds a pretty fair share of the tablet market. Is there going to be an app ? I see a few agilent apps in the store already so I guess there is not an anti iPad policy
I contacted Agilent support a few months ago asking for an 802.11 interface multimeter of some sort (either handheld or benchtop). We're looking to incorporate something like that into our automated testing solution because we have a lot of test stations that could share a few meters wirelessly, if you ever road test an 802.11 meter solution I'd be the first one to apply.
