The new Tektronix PA1000 Power Analyzer provides research and development engineers with highly accurate power measurements on single phase power-electronics products. A high-resolution, high-speed sampling system, along with two precision current shunts, maintain high measurement accuracy even for applications such as standby power with very low-level signals. Special test modes plus PWRVIEW software simplify compliance to key regulatory standards. Many standard features and a 5-year warranty deliver best-in-class value plus confidence in your investment.
Q&A
What kind of tests are required?
Road tests should be application based.
For the PA1000 power analyzer we are looking for tests from engineers that are making power measurements during the design or test of products:
Power supplies (including plug-in chargers and PC type power supplies)
Lighting equipment (Including LED and CFL driver design)
…and low power standby in any of the above applications
The PA1000 power analyzer is not designed for field survey or power quality measurements.
WWhat does a good road test consist of?
It should cover all aspects of achieving measurements that are required: ease-of-use, connectivity, range of measurements, clarity of display and software features such as data storage and reporting.
This RoadTest is only open to residents of the following countries:
Australia
Brunei
Cambodia
Indonesia
Laos
Malaysia
Myanmar
New Zealand
Philippines
Singapore
Thailand
Vietnam
Terms & Conditions
Testers will be selected on the basis of quality of applications: we expect a full and complete description of why you want to test this particular product.
Testers are required to produce a full, comprehensive and well thought out review within 2 months of receipt of the product.
Failure to provide this review within the above timescale will result in the enrolee being excluded from future Road Tests.
It's a very specialized piece of kit and I think we can say that there will be some very good evaluations from this Road Test.
We have used a similar device at work to record the in-rush current of many modern computers/servers, which has re-written our power system design for equipment racks.
Many thanks to all who applied; in this instance, Tektronix will be selecting the RoadTesters - we will publish information about whom they have selected as soon as possible. Thank you.
