Overview: Agilent N9322C Spectrum Analyzer

The award-winning N9322C basic spectrum analyzer (BSA) defines a new generation of value-priced, general-purpose spectrum analyzers. It helps you quickly uncover key insights during RF design and troubleshooting through best-in-class RF performance. The N9322C won EDN’s “Hot 100” award in 2013.

Overview: TI Value Line Development Kit 868-915MHz (CC11XLDK-868-915)

The CC11xLDK-868-915 development kit provides a complete hardware performance testing and software development platform for TI's Sub-1 GHz Value Line. The development kit comes with a pre-programmed packet error rate test. RF range and robustness can be tested with different RF settings, and powerconsumption can be measured easily. This kit supports 868MHz and 915MHz. An extra Evaluation Module Kit (CC11XLEMK-433) is needed to evaluate 433MHz.

Blogging Challenge

Successful RoadTesters will be invited to blog on the Test & Measurement area in addition to providing the standard RoadTest review of the products. Blogs should incorporate videos and images whenever possible. The winner will be announced on Monday, September 29, 2014 and a Grand Prize will be awarded shortly thereafter.

Testers will be selected on the basis of quality of applications: we expect a full and complete description of why you want to test these products and your approach for blogging about them.
Testers are required to produce a full, comprehensive and well thought out review, we also expect a minimum of 3 blog posts about this product in the Test & Measurement area of element14. Both are due by September 26, 2014.
Failure to provide the review and blogs within the above timescale will result in the enrollee being excluded from future Road Tests.

You would be correct, I too received one for the Agilent 33622A AWG blog challenge way back in March, it is an excellent DMM, the only down side to it so far (And its not really a down side) is it has a slow refresh rate of 2 or 3 per second which is significantly less than the 1272A but still very usable, oh and it shows scan lines on a video. Neither of these things detract from its usability and accuracy, I really love mine, I went and bought the Bluetooth adapter for it which then allows much better remote capabilities. Overall an excellent bonus prize

Today when I came home I had the pleasant surprise to find a package from Keysight Technologies. Next minute I opened it and inside I found a U1273A true RMS, 4 and 1/2 Digit Handheld Digital Multimeter With Organic LED Display. I assume that receiving this DMM is related to the review that I just wrote for the Agilent N9322C Spectrum Analyzer & TI CC11XLDK-868, and I would like to thank Keysight Technologies and TI for this surprise present and for giving me the opportunity to participate in this review, and I would also like to thank Element14 for organizing this road test review.

Christian,

The N9322C spectrum analyzer arrived at my location on August 20th and the TI CC11XL development kit arrived two days later on August 22. I think Shabaz may have his kit, but I don't think Cosmin has his yet.

Based on normal road test protocol we can assume two months are available following receipt of equipment to post a complete review. Depending on when Cosmin receives his equipment the reviews should be complete near the end of October. Since this is an enhanced road test with a blogging component, can we please have the completion date for the TI project blogs also moved to near the end of October?

I've already started exploring the analyzer and the TI dev and both are showing lots of interesting capability already!

I have just logged on and read the decision from Agilent and TI on the N9322C Road Test. Although I do not know the other 48 applicants personally, I am aware of the quality of contribution many of them have made to the community in the past. Given the experience, technical knowledge, creativity and passion for electronics I have seen from many of the others, most certainly including Shabaz and Cosmin, I am honoured to have been selected and deeply humbled by the caliber of my company.

Thank you Agilent and TI. It is now upon me to produce the best review I can muster.
