I am currently putting together a solution with LED display, Raspberry Pi, USB based high speed scanner and keyboard for a large scale document scanning/archiving product. Challenge is that the place where these documents are present doesn't have enough space and power outlets to put PC's and the scanning station being planned has to do the specific job faster than overheads of PC based solution hence the LED to display the sequence of instructions to the scanning personnel. Would love to see if I can get this hardware integrated into this solution to make it more rugged as compared to the current 'soldered' solutions that I am working on. I am also thinking of using the switches that are available and remove the usb external keyboard!.
As an avid product tester and software developer, I would love the chance to trial this product. I have a RaspberryPi I tweak with XBMC set up at home already but I'm always trying to think of ways to improve it, this would be perfect. I have 10+ years commercial experience of testing products and have a habit of finding things that are not obvious. I have wrote reports for many companies involving product development, testing and much more.
As a 13-year old I will be able to tell you the usability for school children, the audience that the pi is made for. I have been waiting for a product like this to be used in a bike speedometer project, and many others.
I would love to test out this new product. I have been waiting for an Raspberry Pi display that could be used for my next internet radio project. I am in the process of building an Aquaponics garden and this display would make a great learning tool for the new beginners. I am currently teaching youngsters around my neighborhood how to program and design things for themselves. Having a display like this will help tremendously with advancing their Raspberry Pi knowledge!
