Off the Bench RoadTest

Most RoadTests focus on testing products used on the bench such as development boards and test equipment. Off The Bench RoadTests test and review products that are used in the field, facility or installation.

If you have a 3D Printer and Would Like to Experiment with Different Types of 3D Printer Filaments, this RoadTest was Made for you!

On this RoadTest, the official testers will receive 3 different types of 3D Printer filaments. They are tasked to test, experiment, and work with the filaments and write a review describing their experience. Here is some basic information on what they will receive:

MP005454

eSilk-PLA in metallic colours are similar to PLA, with good mechanical properties and toughness, enviromentally friendly and non-toxic.
Low shrinkage, good print performance
Compatible with 99.99% of 3D printers on the market

MC011473

PETG Filament that combines the advantages of ABS and PLA
No smelling while printing
Low shrinkage
Low hygroscopic
Good toughness

MC002547

Robust printing results with good glossiness
Biodegradable and environmentally friendly thermoplastic
No cracking or wiredrawing problems
Multicomp products are rated 4.6 out of 5 stars

Documentation

Contents: Each roadtester will receive 1 reel each (or 3 reels total) of MP005454, MC011473, and MC002547
Use each reel on your 3D printer and write a review describing its ease of use, effectiveness, along with some examples of how you worked with it.

The Taz 6 is quite the workhorse. Have you seen the guides to use 1.75mm filament with it?

Initially, the test products had different diameters.

This has now been changed, all 3 are 1.75mm

Sorry I'm a bit late on this but the standard 1.75mm would be best for all filaments in the test to avoid retooling.

I've seen the datasheet. So, only people with 2.85mm setups (that's probably not the 99.9% of the printers) can apply (or should apply)!

Strange. Most people have 1.75mm. The only brand I'm aware that uses 2.85mm is Ultimaker. Could that not be a typo ?

Indeed, usually, if your printer can take 2.85mm, it can also take 1.75mm, but not the other way around for sure. We'll review the available filaments, likely make them all 1.75mm

good catch. I missed that gotcha. In checking, my 3D printer can only work with 1.75mm.
