Poll: Would You Be Interested in Roadtesting a Clamp-on Industrial Temperature Sensor + Dev Board?

I was approached by an sensor manufacturer who was interested in getting some of its temperature sensors roadtested. I want to get a feel for the interest level for this product.

The sensor clamps onto a pipe and outputs a 4 to 20 mA signal.

Here are the sensors:

HANI-C-1.5S-M-MA 4 to 20 mA output, 0 to 100°C, 1.5” sanitary metal pipe

https://www.omega.com/en-us/temperature-measurement/hybrid-temperature-sensors/hts-hani-clamp-s/p/HANI-C-1-5S-M-MA

HANI-C-2.0S-M-MA 4 to 20 mA output, 0 to 100°C, 2.0” sanitary metal pipe

HANI-C-1.0I-M-MA 4 to 20 mA output, 0 to 100°C, 1.0” industrial metal pipe

Interesting product, but the only place I could test it here might be my hot-tub... or I could modify some plumbing to add a metal piece into the pex somewhere. Hopefully someone will have a more real…

I have already had a chance to try this product.  I felt it was very impressive.  Our process if very controlled in temperature and the unit was within 1°C of our thermocouple about 30mm away.

I have a need for several - geothermal heat pump (inlet and outlet temps), and in-floor heating circuits (3x) all would benefit from knowing absolute temperatures and rise/fall times for efficiencies, maintenance, and rise time (anticipatory) scheduling.

I'd like to thank everyone for voting and writing comments. The different points-of-view are valuable in the roadtest planning process.

    Many thanks.

I have the same mild interest image   in my case it has never been -30º here, but I do wonder about seasonal water heating requirement differences. But a $600 sensor seems like overkill for that for sure!

There is inefficiency in the hot water piping in most houses because the water must run long enough to flush cold water out of the pipe before the hot water arrives. But I already know everything I need to know about how to improve efficiency and how effective or not effective insulation is.

I am mildly interested in the inlet temperature of the water coming into the house, when it is -30 degrees outside, how close does the water in the pipe come to freezing. It isn't a problem, since the pipes have never frozen, but I am a little curious how close they come to freezing. It isn't really worth spending a lot of money on and there isn't much point unless it is really cold outside, so I don't think this is a good application for a road test.

I'd be interested, but I would need more pipe sizes.  From the pictures, it is a really rugged clamp, but that makes it really specific to each pipe size.

Hopefully someone will have a more real-life industrial type use to test them with image
