Would you attend a webinar hosted by the element14 team? What topics do you want to hear about?

I'm definitely more in favour of the "on demand" rather than live. As a professional engineer, I can't usually justify breaking off in the middle of something to watch a stream which may or may not be worth the time. My experience is that whilst many webinars are extremely good, around three quarters just aren't worth the time, and are simply the same marketing words we have seen in the standard sales literature.

I would like to see the emphasis on new products. I have a pretty good grasp on what is already available, but it can be difficult keeping ahead with what is new in components, test gear and so on. Arduino and similar dev boards all have huge amounts of coverage on the Internet, particularly among the hobbyist development community, my preference would be to concentrate on the professional level (there are already more than 45,000 Arduino videos on YouTube).

Great ideas and feedback everyone!  Sounds like there's a few good reasons for doing an OnDemand series.  Keep the suggestions coming!

I'm not sure where everyone's level of expertise is, so this may be too simple for some, but I would love to see some basic usage demos for some common development boards like Amicus and Arduino - maybe compare the platforms, for example?

In terms of the kind of demo, for the beginners it might be nice to have a from-zero start with a new board on a new computer, getting the dev software and making the first blinking LED application run. For me I'd like something more advanced that can be done in an hour or less, like maybe an Arduino based voltmeter.

Another useful thing for Mac users might be showing how to use VirtualBox to run a Windows-only development board (I'm doing all my work on Mac now, and loving it!).

Webinars are great but like "Dab" I prefer the option of being able to look at these in my own time / break time and therefore the on demand option would fit perfectly for me.

May I suggest if possible to keep them short and snappy

Hi DAB, thanks for your idea!  I really like the OnDemand Idea for our first "episode"!  We can gage if there's enough interest for a live webinar from the views and such for future or if your fellow members appreciate the OnDemand option more than a live version!  Also, we can cut out bloopers that way!

I would love to see some webinars that teach you how to do some engineering processes (for example, making pcb boards using a laser printer and etching chemicals, using different development board programs along with their pros and cons, and so on )

Just something I thought would be a cool idea.
