Would you attend a webinar hosted by the element14 team? What topics do you want to hear about?

The team at element14 Community wants to hear from you!  We'd like to get an idea for those of you who would be interested in attending a webinar hosted by the element14 team.  Would you like a demo series of how to use element14 Community to get the most benefit? How would you like to hear the story and history behind element14?  Maybe you'd rather have a whole webinar dedicated to Q&As or perhaps listen in on a discussion from our developers on upcoming features?

Tell us what you'd like to see in future webinars hosted by element14 Community by leaving a comment and we'll make it happen!

Thanks!

Hi Nicole, I personally like Webinars since my disability makes it very difficult for me to travel. Basically, I like to see new technology and products described. Having attended several Webinars, I would…

Hi DAB, thanks for your idea! I really like the OnDemand Idea for our first "episode"! We can gage if there's enough interest for a live webinar from the views and such for future or if your fellow members…

In case anyone is interested, I have started a project called the A.I.Samurai, shortly to be renamed A.I.SamuRPi. The project will be in kick starter next month. This is an open source project for Roboteers to move from having RC devices to pre-programmed, self aware robots, that battle each other in the arena. As an A.I. Student with MIT I am looking for other Destructive developers, Droid designers and Bot Builders to join the team. The open source project will cover such items as 3d print designs for robot parts, electronics and coding. Ay and all assistance will be welcomed.

If you could record the webinar so it becomes an 'on demand' video later that would be great! Personally, I would like to see topics on more hands-on stuff (like maybe building a simple robot, or soldering surface mount chips, whatever!), but really anything that would cater to most hobbyists would be nice image

I too am plagued by being in a timezone that does not suit a lot of live webinars (New Zealand) so unless it is available on demand after the event, it's a NO sorry.

    Hi mpaholski,

I agree!  No way I'm getting out of bed in the middle of the night for a webinar! image  It sounds like that is the majority interest...for an on demand type webinar.  But, if you were to see a webinar worth getting out of bed at 2am, what would the topic be? image

    Thanks for your input!

    HI Nicole,

By webinar, I'm guessing you mean a live event ? If so I have only one real reservation - the timing.

In a previous job I had had to attend global teleconferences on a regular basis. The timing of there for North America / Europe is easy but when a third group join for instance, the people in my time zone join (GMT +10) it somehow always is scheduled to 2 am for us. (the woes of being a smaller market)

For an optional event it is very unlikely you’ll get me out of bed unless it it’s an exceptional topic.

On demand is the way to go, for me at least

    Hi Nicole,

I must admit that some of the webinars that I have attended in the past makes me feel tired and sleepy. I guess this may be because most of them are just product introductions and advertisements where I think is just like reading a pdf document. If there would be an On Demand webinars, may I suggest that they concentrate more on the demonstration and the actual application of the product. For me, the more interactive the webinar is, the more people will find it interesting to join and watch it.

I have attended before some live webinars and what get me excited to finish and join them is the live Q&A contest at the end webinar. This tests the active participation of the attendees. However due to my location, usually I don't get the chance to join these live webinars since the schedules hit night time or even past midnight.

To sum up, On Demand webinars will be good for a classroom type tutorials where anyone can go back and review the video. Live webinars may be effective for product introductions type where attendees can ask on the spot for some questions to the experts.

As long as they don't just become advertisements.  Short 1/2 to 1 hour max for those of us who would have watch during "work" time. New tech topics, or new ways to use old tech.

Hi Zad,  Thanks!   Yes, there are a ton of Ardunio videos out there aren't there?!  I'm not sure if you're aware, but we have a new area on the Community called "New Technology". Hope it's useful and interesting to you!  Here's the link so you can check it out: http://www.element14.com/community/community/new_technology?ICID=groups_newtech_menubar.
