What could improve your learning experience??

My question is for newbies and expert.

Technology is updating at lightning speed and we are finding unlimited resource on the internet.

Do you think internet is making learning and sharing experience harder ?

So many forums, resources and blogs which one to read or which one to follow?

Is it just me or everyone think we need a central platform to get all the information like wiki for electronics?

What do you think is important to learn or understand new technology?

there are many good resources, I have not received much traditional education in this field, but have had access to texts from an early age as my father is an EE. I have used the open course ware from…

Learning is a personal experience and can not be made to fit everyone. I know from experience that I learn best with a real book that I can study and turn its pages. My children and grandchildren seem…

I disagree, Internet is not making any learning or sharing harder Infact it is making it easier. There are numerous examples on how Interenet is making life easier, if I start giving those I will end up…

I think this is like the library. Do you go looking for the book or find the catalogue first? This is why so many people give little thought BEFORE charging into a project? I can say well over 70% of the questions here are by folks not checking "the catalogue" first.

    Just my two cents worth,

    Clem

Yes, the amount of information in the wild that can be accessed instantly can be overwhelming. it is tough if your looking for something that few specialize in. bit for the most part the basics are covered well in so many places. I'm sure anyone who googles for information has their own trusted sources.

If there is enough interest perhaps someday there will be an open source university online.

    Hi Sheldon,

Thank you for your reply.I definitely agree with you.

But dont you think now a days we are spending more time searching than sharing our experience or knowledge?

If all of Element14 user share their learning experience then I believe this poll would give newbie a great guidance.

there are many good resources, I have not received much traditional education in this field, but have had access to texts from an early age as my father is an EE. I have used the open course ware from MIT, google searches, forums here and elsewhere. some of the best resources i have come across are older than myself. you may be surprised how much you can learn from reading datasheets. above all hands on experience is the number one way to learn.
