Perhaps "favorite" isn't the right word. The basic issue is this: when I compare the number of applicants before the pandemic (~2020) and now (2023), I am now getting fewer applicants. I presume the community…

Most likely categories for me could be: - Electronic test equipment, hand tools and soldering tools - Power management and conversion, power mosfets and maybe motor control as well - Sensors As dougw said…

Our poll system has its limitation. A voter can only select one. But I would be interested in your top 3. Just add them in comments. Thanks.

I never touch expensive microcontroller board so far. That's the reason why I chose microcontroller. I often used a cheap china's products lol. If possible, the web developer should provide, at least, 3 FAVORITES things to pick.

Looks intersting, lattice semiconductor also offeres some low density fpga solutions. It will be nice to see some good roadtest done on these boards.

    Hi!

This FPGA dev-board could be interesting to RoadTest, and it could have lots of applications once people are familiar with how to use it:

    SLG7EVBFORGE

It's a simple FPGA, with software that looks easy-to-use. I wish the board was cheaper though. Unfortunately, the cost is high due to the QFN chip socket on it.

So many interesting choices! I chose Security because there are so many needs in this one area, but my heart is in Test Equipment and Raspberry Pi applications since they (and Arduino) are so versatile.

Responding to your recent request for more votes !

To do a decent Road Test takes a lot of effort. If I have a bit of time I would in many ways rather do a blog about something I've been working with. That way I can choose how much time to invest much more freely.

Test equipment is attractive because it is an interest of mine for its own sake but also because the value of the gear is a good recompense for the large amount of effort required.

Eval kits for chips are rarely worthwhile because they are already very cheap compared with the effort required to do a road test. If I'm interested in using a complex chip I would rather just buy the eval kit and not have the constraints of a road test.

Tools are attractive because a good road test is often quite simple not too time consuming.

Software road tests are quite rare but can be interesting.

    MK

I said "FPGA" but really I'd be willing to roadtest anything that's supportive of whatever project I'm currently working on (which generally means stuff related to building new processing architectures).

For me if the product that matches with the application I am working on I will surely go for road-test. Art and Aesthetics is one of the application that I have a requirement for. I there is any courses that can teach me. I will surely go for it.

It is not because that no one want to road-test product in the community. But most of the people are working in some kind of application if there is any product on the go to help them complete the application they would surely go for a road test.

I don't know anything about the FPGA universe, but I have wanted to study them for a while. A roadtest would be welcome to discover them!!

It's very difficult to pick one from this list. In my opinion Raspberry Pi and Beagle Bone Boards should be covered in the a single option - SBC ( Single Board Computer)
