Mavizon Technologies has made a device, The AutoBOT, that not only tracks your car’s movements, but adds many other features that are well work the asking price of $300 dollars. For one, when you are in an accident, the AutoBOT will send text messages to local emergency services like 911 describing the situation and your location. Completely worth it if you get into an accident in a remote area. I wonder what the devices txt messages look like, I image: “Hey police, I got in an accident, lol. Save me!!!11!!1”
The AutoBOT also monitors your vehicles health and notifies you for regularly schedules servicing, very useful since I always forget when to do each maintenance check.
The best part of the AutoBOT is the ability to track your car via GPS at any time, like intentionally putting a James Bond like tracer on your vehicle. They promote this feature by saying, “you can find your car in a parking lot and see where your children are at 2am.” I like the idea of knowing exactly where my car is at all times, and I can see this being a regular part of vehicle ownership in the near future. This is the first step and I applaud Mavizon’s initial attempt.
I would like to see full car monitoring, such as if a tire is low, a window has been broken, temperature, if my window is rolled down, etc. I know some people who has similar devices installed in their houses, and they were always checking the statuses. It isn’t a bad habit, but a worthwhile concern.
If you had a $100,000 dollar Tesla Roadster, would you want to know everything that is going on around and inside it? I would.
